Today we visited the stone circle near Almenfes, the site of one of the oldest stone circles in Europe.  Located in a cork forest,  we were inspired to learn about the cork trees in Portugaul, the producer of 50% of the worlds cork.  Ends up, the cork tree is part of the oak family and the outer layer of bark is the cork and can be harvested every ten to twelve years.  Who knew?

We spent the afternoon swimming, reading and watching plane load after plane load of colorful paragliders overhead.
